The accordion has become the main instrument for Scottish Dancing, replacing the bagpipes and fiddle, but it is such a versatile instrument that it is also used for solo and group performances of classical, pop, continental and other genres of music. We have lots of accordion music as part of a Scottish Country Dance and Ceilidh bands, but also some where the accordion is used for other music. From the legendary Jimmy Shand to the young Brandon McPhee there is plenty to choose from.
