The Old School Beauly is an award winning lifestyle shop, specialising in gifting, homewares and clothing. We are based in a beautiful Victorian Primary School in Beauly in the Highlands of Scotland, right on the North Coast 500 route.

The Old School Beauly building

Helen and William Crawford bought the old school in 2009 and have renovated large parts of it over the years to house all the wonderful clothes, homewares, music CDs, books and gifts they sell. Often referred to as the Old Schoolhouse Beauly it is actually the school itself, and the classrooms make separate departments, and it even had an entrance door at either end, one for boys and one for girls! The central entrance was added in 2013 to give direct access to the main shop where the clothes, toiletries, jewellery and gents gift sections are all housed.

In 2017 the school canteen which had been used as a cafe for over five years became a bookstore - full of Scottish interest books, plus a selection of prize-winning titles. The fiction, and non-fiction, books sit alongside some lovely stationery and gift items and a range of reading glasses. You will also find children's books in the kids room, and gift books dotted almost everywhere! The bookshop was opened by none other than Diana Gabaldon - the author of the Outlander series.

In the old school corridor you will find the walls lined with cards - birthday cards, wedding and engagement cards and cards to mark all sorts of other occasions. The best selection of cards in the area. Plus gift wrap and bags to make the perfect gift even better.
