Renowned Gaelic singer Maggie Maclnnes was born in Glasgow and now lives in Ayrshire. She sings and plays clarsach (the Celtic harp). Her main interest lies in the Gaelic Tradition, having acquired her love of Gaelic music from her mother, the highly-acclaimed Gaelic singer Flora MacNeil MBE from the Island Of Barra in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland.
Maggie has been a member of various groups over the years, such as Ossian, Fuaim and Eclipse First. Along the way, Maggie has performed in many parts of Europe, especially Italy, and toured with the group Ossian in the USA and Nova Scotia, Canada. She has also appeared in concert alongside such names as Dougie MacLean, Boys of the Lough, jazz guitarist Martin Taylor, Capercaillie's Karen Matheson and former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro.
Maggie has also been involved in music for theatre, having worked in the past with the 7:84 Theatre Company and Theatre Alba. In addition she worked on the soundtrack for a BBC play featuring Marianne Faithful!.
Frequent appearances on BBC Alba, the main Gaelic broadcast medium in Scotland, indude'Tacsi" and "Talla a Bhaille", as well as her own half-hour program during the "Aite mo Ghaoil" series, which also featured Karen Matheson.
