Distinctive waulking songs of the Western Isles, featuring Mary Morrison, Calum Johnston, Kate Buchanan and Flora Boyd.

Fulling or waulking of home-made cloth was carried out in Gaelic Scotland by pounding the material against a board or tramping it with the feet. This was usually women’s work and the waulking songs were sung by the groups of women to lighten the load of this tiring work. Only waulking by hand has survived to this day.

"These songs are of an age which has vanished forever . . absolutely captivating". The Living Tradition Magazine.

Robh Thu 'Sa' Bheinn; Ho Ro Hug O Hug O; Latha Siubhal Beinne Dhomh; A Bean Ad Thall A Rinn An Gaire; An Fhideag Airid; Is Moch An Diugh A Rinn Mi Gluasad.
