Break It Up is an oustanding album from Rura who won the Up & Coming Artist Award at the 2011 Scots Trad Awards. This five-piece band combines the passions & influences of some of Scotland's most exciting young musicians. The band features two Young Trad Musician of The Year finalists & a Bodhran champion. Highly recommended.
Rura are Jack Smedley (fiddle); Steven Blake (bagpipes and whistle); Chris Waite (guitar); David Foley (bodhran and flute); and Adam Holmes (vocals and guitar).
They are joined on the album by James Lindsay on bass guitar.
"Individually and collectively they have forged a sound with fire, passion and drive". Phil Cunningham.

"Rura are the hottest new band on the Scottish scene right now. With their cracking blend of pipes and fiddle and mellifluous vocals and songs by Adam Holmes they're set to go far. Festivals book them now!" Simon Thoumire.
