This is the fourth collection of music from The Occasionals , which is a selection of sets for Scottish Ceilidh dancing, featuring a range of traditional and contemporary tunes, with some new compositions by accordionist Freeland Barbour and fiddler Ian Hardie. Add Gus Millar on drums and Kevin MacLeod on banjo, mandolin and tenor guitar and you have The Occasionals- Reel of Four- the 3rd album on the Greentrax label.
Freeland Barbour is arguably one of the finest accordionists in Scotland and has previous solo albums to his credit. He is also widely known for his work with the now defunct “Wallochmor Ceilidh Band” and as a composer.
Ian Hardie, also a prolific composer, has recorded three solo albums for Greentrax and in addition to playing with The Occasionals was also a member of leading folk band, Jock Tamson’s Bairns.

Kevin MacLeod is a multi-instrumentalist who has one solo album on the Greentrax label plus a recent duo album with ex De Danaan lynchpin Alec Finn. Both albums feature Kevin’s amazing skills on stringed, fretted instruments.
Gus Millar is a highly sought after ceilidh band drummer who also worked with the Wallochmor Celidh Band. He has wide experience within the Scottish Dance Band scene.
These four exceptionally talented musicians combine to make one of the most popular ceilidh bands with a sound unique to The occasionals.
