Description
Kathleen MacInnes, originally from South Uist, Western Isles, but now living in Glasgow, is an outstanding Gaelic singer. This, her debut album Og Mhadainn Shamhraidh (Summer Dawn) features contemporary Gaelic song, with bouzouki, cello, flute, uillean pipes, fiddle, field organ, piano & guitar adding their textures to the settings. Kathleen sings a mixture of old well-known songs & newer ones, some translated into Gaelic especially for her.
Kathleen has some wonderful session musicians, including Ross Martin (guitar), Iain MacDonald (whistles & pipes), Donald Shaw (keyboards & accordion), John McCusker (fiddle), Cathy-Ann MacPhee (backing vocals) and more. This is a very fine Gaelic song CD.
