Fiddlers' Bid is a sensational band. Their sound is quite unique and has been developed from Shetland's rich tradition of fiddle music but given a fresh approach by the four outstanding fiddlers, backed by acoustic guitar, bass and keyboards, Scottish harp.. & sheep!

"Stunningly tight arrangements, beautiful tone..." Scotland On Sunday.

Fiddlers' Bid are now in their tenth year as a band and have had the same line-up since 1997. This, their 3rd album, comprises many traditional and contemporary tunes. Some of these are written by Band members but mainly they are from the Shetland Islands, where their roots lie. Over the years the Band has delighted audiences around the world with their dynamic, vibrant sound and earlier this year Fiddlers' Bid travelled all the way to Tasmania to take part in the 'Ten Days on the Island Festival', where they were a stunning success. They sold out all their albums in the first few days of the Festival!

Anyone who has seen this Band 'live' will agree they are sensational. With four outstanding fiddlers, acoustic guitar, bass, keyboards and Scottish harp they create an exhilarating sound. It is difficult not to leap to your feet when the Band is in full flight and the level of excitement generated at the Band's concerts is amazing. The Band's sound is quite unique and has been developed from Shetland's rich tradition of fiddle music but given a fresh approach by the fiddlers, backed by the driving rhythm section and of course the addition of the Scottish harp.

The Band consists of fiddlers Kevin and Maurice Henderson, Chris Stout (also viola) and Andrew Gifford (also guitar); Catriona McKay, on Scottish harp and piano; Steve Yarrington on acoustic guitar and David Coles completes the lineup on bass guitar.

This album was the Greentrax best-selling album of 2002.
