Description
On Long Time Getting Here Donald Stewart not only plays fiddle, Stroh violin, guitar and piano, but also wrote almost all of the tunes on this album. The tunes are so well written in the traditional style that many of them could be mistaken for trad tunes.

"I have written the tunes on this CD over a period of many years. In some cases they represent significant people or events in my life and in others just the sheer joy of the journey of life. I started to play the fiddle when I was eight. Since then the music has been a constant element in a life that has taken me far beyond anywhere I could conceive of in my earlier days."
A Night In Orphir; Christine's Waltz; Over The Hill For Lesley; Fitterin' And Futterin'; Farewell To Whisky; The North Shore; The three Shes; Alma's Garden; Trip To Toronto; Ballachulish Bayou; Archie's Welcome; Memories Of Elma; Captain Carswell.
