His first album "Portrait of A Scottish Fiddler" was a fairly traditional affair with typical piano accompaniment. His later albums have seen more adventurous arrangements and instrumentation.

His music has been featured on radio, TV and even on the big screen such as in The Last Of The Mohicans, and Titanic.
