Alasdair Fraser is widely regarded as the foremost Scottish fiddler, both as a performer and as a teacher. He was born in 1955 in Clackmannan. His first recording in 1983 was the fairly traditional fiddle and piano album "Portrait Of A Scottish Fiddler". His later recordings use more unusual accompaniments in terms of arrangements and instruments providing a fresh take of traditional Scottish music.
He has had his music featured on Hollywood blockbusters such as Last Of The Mohicans and Titanic.
