Alasdair Fraser and Tony McManus - Return To Kintail CUL113D front

Master Scottish fiddler Alasdair Fraser joins forces with Tony McManus, one of the most admired guitarists, to create an incredible partnership of musical power. A combination which could hardly miss - both are masters.

Alasdair Fraser is widely regarded as the foremost Scottish fiddler, both as a performer and as a teacher. He was born in 1955 in Clackmannan. His first recording in 1983 was the fairly traditional fiddle and piano album "Portrait Of A Scottish Fiddler". His later recordings use more unusual accompaniments in terms of arrangements and instruments.

He has had his music featured on Hollywood blockbusters such as Last Of The Mohicans and Titanic.

Tony McManus. This self-taught acoustic guitarist has his own distinctive style. He was brought up on traditional Scottish and Irish music, but has expanded his musical horizons to include Canadian, Breton, Galician and other influences. He is in great demand as a session musician and can be heard on albums by Kate Rusby, Brian McNeill, Alasdair Fraser, and others.

"Fraser and McManus blew us away comprehensively.  Fraser's intensely expressive phrasing...". The Scotsman.
