Description

Black Isle Candle - Black Pomegranate

Our luxury natural hand poured Black Isle Candles are presented in a recycled glass votive, gift boxed with ribbon.

They are scented with classic Black Pomegranate, indicative of the beautiful Black Isle.

In our shop, we are oftentimes asked: "Why is The Black Isle called the Black Isle?" Some think it is because of the excellent dark farming soil. Some think, as I did, gowning up on the Moray peninsula which overlooks The Black Isle, that it is because the Black Isle does look dense and dark at times, especially in the winter on a cloudy, cold day. Dig back even deeper and some refer to tales of witchcraft and skulduggery as being the reasons for the name.

Wherever the truth lies, we adore the Black Isle because of its deep, dark woods, large open fields and well kept and much-admired villages, such as Avoch, Fortrose, Culbokie and Rosemarkie. The Black Isle is a super stopping off point off on the North Coast 500 route, where one can enjoy deserted beaches, fine dining, cliff top walks and excellent cycle routes.

One thing we do know is that the Black Isle is not actually an isle. It's a peninsula, situated just north of Inverness in The Highlands. The Black Isle is about 20 miles long and 10 miles wide.

Our luxury natural candles are hand poured into a glass votive, gift boxed and hand tied with a luxurious black ribbon.
