Description

Sumptuous slow airs, jaunty jigs, full-bodied rampant reels and a seditiously seductive waltz all flow from the curvetting bow of supremely accomplished young Edinburgh fiddler Iain Anderson.

The Carpenter; Nutty Broon; Eppie’s Tune: MacFadden’s Reel; Neil Gow’s Lament For The Death Of His Second Wife; The White Petticoat; Rhona’s Waltz; Da Tushkar; Thunderhead; Molly’s Reel; Sunset Over Foula; Cronin’s Fancy.

Iain Anderson first picked up a fiddle at the age of seven. Twenty years later, his playing has been described by critics as “gleamingly brilliant”. Iain was born in Glasgow; at a young age he moved to Edinburgh and started violin lessons at school under the instruction of former Golden Fiddle Award winner, Yla Steven. Since then he’s never looked back!

Throughout his musical career, Iain has been fortunate enough to record with a variety of talented musicians, to teach fiddle to enthusiastic students and to play with several excellent bands. His performances include notable appearances at the Royal Albert Hall in London and the European M.T.V. awards in Edinburgh. When he’s not working in the U.K. Iain likes to take his music to a much wider audience. His bands’ portfolio includes Brazil, Canada, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Croatia, Poland, Denmark, Cyprus, and Spain… to name but a few!
