  • In Scotland's turbulent past it was the custom for Clan Chiefs to give their followers a metal plate of their crest, to be worn as a badge of allegiance which fastened to their clothing with a strap and buckle.

When not in use the belt was coiled around the crest and this convention is used in the clan crest badges of today.

Only a Clan Chief may wear the crest without the strap and buckle.

This will be dispatched to you from our shop in Beauly, The Highlands of Scotland.

Beauly is closely associated with Clan Fraser of Lovat and the Outlander character, Jamie, descends from Beauly. Our shop is adjacent to the tranquil ruins of Beauly Priory where Claire meets Maisri the seer. We hope you will cherish this special and beautiful piece bearing the motto Je Suis Prest.

This piece from Art Pewter Jewellery is approx: 2 cm across x 2.6 cm long.
