Bright Beauly Fair on Saturday 18th August 2018
The square in Beauly was used as a market place for centuries and this year we saw the return of a bustling market on the 18th August. There was a selection of crafts from around the Highlands and Islands, as well as live music from local musicians and food stalls to keep everyone happy. All the existing shops were open as usual, and the event was followed by a family Ceilidh in the Phipps Hall.
The square was originally a large open space and was used for massive cattle markets, with drovers bringing cattle from all over the Highlands to sell.
