Alasdair Fraser is recognised throughout the world as one of the finest fiddle players Scotland has ever produced; his name is synonymous with the vibrant cultural renaissance which is transforming the Scottish musical scene. With Paul Machlis - an equally brilliant pianist who has a great understanding of the music. Together they have created the exquisite album Legacy Of The Scottish Fiddle.

Born in Clackmannan in 1955 Alasdair is now regarded as the best Scottish Fiddler of his generation, both as a player and as a teacher. His first album "Portrait of A Scottish Fiddler" was a fairly traditional affair with typical piano accompaniment. His later albums have seen more adventurous arrangements and instrumentation.

His music has been featured on radio, TV and even on the big screen such as in The Last Of The Mohicans, and Titanic.
